Worship

Sundays at BDUMC are a great way to start your week right… connected with our Creator and Lord. Through song, thoughtful proclamation of the Word of God, and deep prayer, we truly worship God every Sunday morning.

Worship & Style

At Bois D’Arc United Methodist Church, you will find two worship services with the same feel and style: laid-back traditional. We sing traditional hymns from the United Methodist Hymnal, and we occasionally sing a few hymns from some old Upper Room hymnals that we keep in the pews. Hymns are accompanied by a piano and sometimes with an organ as well.

Although we have a fairly young congregation, we don’t use Contemporary Christian music for our hymns. We have no drum sets and no electric guitars (unless it’s a Special Music offering). Folks who worship at our church like the feeling that they are “coming home”… either to a church that feels like the little country church they grew up in or to the church home that they always dreamed could exist.

Although we worship in traditional style, don’t expect to be bored. There’s a lot of theological content and genuine worship of God in our traditional services. We put a strong focus on developing services that ring out a single message, tying together sermon, music, and prayer into a message of a faith you can live each day.

We celebrate Holy Communion on the first Sunday of the month at both services.
